Debt-Get Out of It
Are you tired of being in debt? It is time to take a stand. Tell yourself that you are sick and tired of being sick and tired and start doing things that will help you to start seeing the end of the tunnel. When you are in debt you stay stressed out and your life is lived based on your financial restraints. Suddenly, everything you do dpenends on how much money you have.
Do you even know how much your bills total up to for each month? Many people do not. You can walk up to them and ask them exactly how much their bills total each month and they cannot give you an accurate answer without first thinking about it for five minutes. Even then they may leave something out. A lot of people would be surprised at how big of a difference it makes just knowing how much your bills total up to for each month. When you know how much your bills are you can then set aside that amount of money each month for those bills, and then use what money you have left to get out of debt.
It is important that you remember to include the cost of food, hygene items, and other necessities when you are trying to figure out how much your bills are each month. Do not include things such as entertainment and other things that are not necessities. This is where you will begin trimming your budget. Yes, you are going to have to tighten up a little if you expect to have more money and get out of debt. Don’t worry you can put extra in your entertainment budget once you are out of debt.
If you figure up how much your bills add up to for each month, cut out some unnecessary costs, and start paying down things that you owe for you can get out of debt. It does not take additional income. You can do these things with the money you are already making. Give it a try and see if you are not out of debt way faster than you ever thought possible.
Build Your Budget
Building a budget is very important if you want to get out of debt. You can get out of debt without going to some expensive company and paying them to try to help you. It does not matter if you are in $100 of debt or $1,000,000 of debt you can get yourself out with a little bit of work.
The first thing you should do is start saving every receipt for every purchase you make from the beginning of a month until the end. You can get an envelope to save the receipts in so that you will not lose any of them. They will be a very important part of setting up your budget.
Next you should take those receipts and put them into a budgeting application. Money Tree has some excellent software for the price or an Excell spreadsheet will work good if you are a do it yourselfer. You should come up with catagories to put all of your expenses under; for example, food expense, electricity expense, entertainment expense, etc..
You may have to itemize some of your receipts if it is for a place such as Walmart where multiple things can be purchased. You may have to put them in more than one catagory.
Add up all of the expenses in each catagory. This should give you a pretty good idea on where your money is going. That is the biggest part on building a budget. You will need to find out where your money is going.
When you figure out where your money is going you will be able to cut out some of those unncessary expenses that you have been incurring each month.
Perhaps the most important two parts of building a budget are saving all of your receipts and having a good budgeting software.
Budgeting-More Than Money
Budgeting is about more than just money. Sure, money is nice to have when you are trying to figure out how to cut costs down/out, but you can have all the money in the world and it will not help you to budget. There are several different elements that make up budgeting, and if you do not have them you will not be able to succeed with your budget.
One of the most important elements of budgeting is discipline. Many people give up on budgeting because they lack the discipline to stick to it. If you are trying to budget it is essential that you set some rules for yourself to stick to. For example, if you know you are always tempted to buy something you do not really need from a certain store every time you go there, make it a rule that you will stay away from that store until your finances are straightened out.
Another thing you will need when budgeting is a positive attitude. If you wake up everyday and think to yourself that you hate living on a budget and that it is such a drag you will not be very successful. You have to keep a positive attitude every day and remember that you are on the right track to getting out of debt and living financially free. This will go a long way to helping you succeed.
There are several other attitudes a person should have when budgeting. These are just a couple of important ones that will help you get on the right track. Remember if you stay disciplined and keep a positive attitude you will no longer have to live with the stress that money brings because you will be doing some very positive things with it. You can get out of debt if you start budgeting and taking control of your finances.
Why Financing is Bad
Are you someone who likes financing everything you cannot afford? Join the rest of America. It seems we Americans have developed a habit of buying a lot of things that we cannot afford. We finance every glitzy, glittery thing we run across that we think we need. We get caught up in a trap of financing too much and end up with a mountain of debt as a result.
It is understandable that some people may need to make big purchases such as a house or automobile on credit, but there are a lot of things that we purchase on credit that we do not need until we can afford. I think our need to have all of these things comes from our unhappiness with the things we have. A lot of us buy things which are quickly replaced as soon as the newest model of that thing is released for sale. We are not happy with just having a regular washer and dryer we have to have one that washes, dries, and folds our clothes all at the same time while we are off living comfortably in another room playing with other things that we do not need.
So what do I do about financing too many things? The answer to this is simple. You pay cash. If you want something, but recognize it as something you do not necessarily need then save up for it. Figure out the price of the item you just cannot wait to have, and figure out when you want to have it. When you have done these two things divide the price by the amount of time you wish to have the item and that is how much you will need to save each month.
Financing things is really more dangerous than some people think. We cannot continue to get all of these things on credit, because there will come a day when all of those bills will be due and we will not have the cash to cover all of them at once. If you are someone who has made a mess out of his/her finances it is a good idea to start budgeting and get those debts paid off before you go out and get more things.
Higher Aptitude Equals Higher Pay
Money has a lot to do with personal finance. That is why aptitude matters so much. Aptitude is your ability to do a certain job successfully. There are aptitude test that can help a person figure out what they are going to do for a living. These detailed test are sometimes costly, but well worth it in the long run. The sooner a person finds out their aptitude for something the sooner they can get a job that they are good at and that they enjoy doing. If a person is happy in what they do they will make a lot of money doing it.
If a person goes to a job everyday taking orders from someone they don’t like and doing a job they used to like but now hate they are not going to be happy and the job is not going to last very much longer. This is a big reason why aptitude test should be taken. A person who is making $30,000 a year could discover a much higher paying job that they love doing and be able to leave their crappy job behind. A word of warning: Do not go out and quit your current job tommorrow because you are excited that someone told you that you can do something different. Your current job is very important to your budget and you need it to survive and stay on track.
When you find the job that you love it is best to make a smooth trasition from your current job to that one. This may mean working both jobs at once or some other measure. Whatever you do though, you should make your work something you enjoy. You will not have the same financial burdens that you had when you were working at a job you hated. You will be able to start living life on your terms and be much happier while doing it.
Ideas To Save Money

In today’s economy we are all looking for new ideas to save money. For some reason when people are thinking of ways to be thrifty they look over some of these things, so we thought we would post them on this page so that you can take advantage of them and have more money left over at the end of the month to pay down your personal debt.
You will need to try to use all of these ideas and others that you think of in order to save a whole lot of money. However, just one of these ideas can add up to some significant savings for you and your family. The ideas to save money are listed below:
- Eliminate premium channels on cable or eliminate cable altogether. Every cable and satellite company has these premium channels that they add to your subscription on sign up usually. You may have even opted to sign up for these premium channels when you thought you could afford it, but now that you are on a budget drop the premium channels or drop your service altogether. You will save a lot of money by doing this.
- If you have a cellphone eliminate your land line. There is no use in having a cell phone and a land line both if you are trying to save money. Chances are if you have a cell phone nobody really ever calls you on your land line anyway.
- Do not buy bottled water. Instead, buy a filter that you can put on your sink and make your own bottled water. A bottle of water cost a little over a dollar almost everywhere. If you install your own water filter then you will be able to save a ton of money.
- If you have cable, phone, and internet service that you are paying for separately you should get them all bundled together. By doing this you will save yourself a lot of money. There is most likely a service such in your area that offers these packages.
- If you live in an area that offers trash pick-up that you have to pay for. Don’t use the service! Take your own trash to the dump. Trash hauling services can be very expensive, and it is a service that you are able to do for yourself. If for some reason you are unable to take your own trash to the dump and you have to use one of these services try to find a competitor in the area. Find out if the competitor offers a lower rate or will do it for a lower rate. If they give you a lower price and you like the company that you are with currently ask them if they will match the price. If they say no then go to the competitor, but if they say yes then you win too. It’s a win either way you look at it, and you will save money.
- Do not buy books or movies. Instead, go to your local library and check out the books that you want to read. They will also have some movies that you may be interested in viewing. This saves plenty of money if you usually buy books and movies.
- Wait until the end of the season and buy your clothes for next year. You can get steals on clothes if you wait until the end of the season. That is when the department store is trying to sell the clothes for the current season and they are in a hurry to move the clothes out for the season that just ended. You can usually get clothes for 25%-40% of the original price. You can also check the clothing exchange stores in your area. They usually have some great clothes that are sometimes new or slightly worn. You can get a huge discount and save money by doing this.
- Eat out less. Start going to the grocery store and buying meals to prepare. It is getting way too expensive to eat out these days, and you can wind up spending more money on food than you have in your budget. If you prepare your meals at home you can save the left over food and make other meals using what you did not eat. You can save a ton of money by grocery shopping instead of eat out.
- Have a garage sale. Go through your house and get together all of the stuff that you do not use in your house. Check the weather for a weekend that is going to be sunny, post signs, and sell all of your stuff. Then you can use the money that you make to pay down personal debt. Do not go celebrate by buying even more useless stuff to clutter up your house. Pay off a bill or something on your personal debt sheet.

Create a Personal Debt Sheet

Learning how to create a personal debt sheet is one of the best things you can do to help you get out of debt. No matter if you have a lot of personal debt or only a little a personal debt sheet will help you get out of debt very quickly. If you do not know how to create one we are going to show you how right here, today, on this page.
With a decent income it is easy to become wealthy over time if you have no debt. You will need to create a sheet to list all of your personal debt except for your home mortgage debt. You will list these debts from the smallest one to the largest one. For example, if you owe the library $20 for overdue books and that is your smallest debt then you will list that one first. If you have a credit card bill that is $6000 dollars and that is your largest bill, that one should be listed last.
To get started using your personal debt sheet you should make all of the minimum payments on all debts except for the one listed first. For the item listed first you should use all of your available cash (from the money you saved on the Ideas For Saving Money page on this site) to pay off the debt. When you have paid off the debt mark it off of your list and move on to number two on the list.
You will do the same for the second item as you did for the first. Make all of the minimum payments on the other items except number two. You will use all of the cash that you have availabe from the Ideas For Saving Money and paying off the number one item to pay off number two. When you have paid off the number to item on your list mark it off.
You will continue this process of making minimum payments, paying debt off, and marking things off of your list. Until one day, THERE IS NO MORE LIST! By listing your debt from smallest to largest you will be able to get some quick victories and you will gain the motivation that you need to pay off your remaining debt.
It takes sacrifice and intensity and you must be willing to draw a line in the sand and say, ” I WILL NOT BORROW AGAIN.” Look at all of the money you will have at the end of every month if you pay off your personal debt. You can then take that money and put into your retirement account.
If you stay focused, in 18-20 months you can be debt free!

Save a Ton on your Car: Buy Used
If you can do without the “new car smell” buying a used vehicle is the way to go. There are many benefits

Used car
How can you save by purchasing a used car? The biggest savings will come on the price of the car. Did you know that a car depreciates the most during its first year on the road? By purchasing a car that is one year old you can avoid all this depreciation, while still getting a vehicle that has low miles and many more years of good service to offer.
To go along with this, you can also save by avoiding particular costs that are standard on new cars. This includes items such as transportation fees, advertising charges, and other hidden costs that always seem to pop up during the new car buying process. When you purchase used you will be able to avoid the majority, if not all of these miscellaneous fees.
Don’t forget about tax. The lower the price of the car the less you will pay in tax. And if you live in a state with a high tax rate, this can save you several hundred dollars or more depending on the cost of the car. For example, compare a purchase of $20k to $10k at a six percent tax rate. If you buy the new car for $20k you will pay $1,200 in taxes. But if you opt for the less expensive used car you will only pay $600. As you can see, not only are you saving $10k on the car itself but also $600 on taxes.
You can save tons of money by purchasing a used car. For more information on getting the best deal read the car buying guide at Carsforgirls.com. With this information, plus what you already know about how much you can save, it is safe to say that you will end up getting a great deal on a quality car.
Vacation on a Budget: Getting Great Prices on Priceline
Let me start by saying that Priceline is not the right “travel booking system” for everyone. Some people will

Priceline Negotiator
The first thing you need to know about Priceline is that you do not get to choose the hotel you are booking, or even its location. To go along with this, you have to be willing to book using your credit card and realize that this money is nonrefundable.
So why are so many people using Priceline to book their next hotel room? Simply put, it can help you save a lot of money. Sure, you have to take a chance but this can work in your favor from a financial standpoint.
To start, remember that Priceline wants you to bid your maximum the first time around so they can make money off of you. Of course, as a smart shopper you know that this is not the best move. Priceline tries to “force your hand” by setting bid limits and not allowing you to place more than one bid on the same location within 24 hours. Why do they do this? If they didn’t, you could essentially place a $1 bid and then slowly creep higher until you hit the right amount. While this would work for you, it would not make Priceline any money; and they are not going to agree to that.
Fortunately, there are a few tricks that allow you to use the Priceline system against itself. Most importantly, Priceline allows you to immediately rebid as long as you make a change to either the zone you want to stay in or the star-level of the hotel. Subsequently, this means that you can more or less place a number of bids one after the next instead of adhering to the 24 hour rule. Of course, it is not always easy to use this strategy. It works best in cities that have multiple zones, and several high quality offerings throughout.
For example, you could opt to place a $100 bid on a five star hotel in the downtown zone of Los Angeles. If you get rejected, you have two options. You can wait 24 hours to bump up your bid, or you can add the four star level at the same price. While this may not make sense, it allows you to expand your options while still having the chance at booking the five star room despite your previous failed attempt.
Another successful strategy is to add zones in which the “star quality” you are chasing does not exist. You can do this by checking all the areas around your target, and keeping an eye on the star levels that are offered. If no hotels are available in your star range, that level is highlighted grey. At this point, you can increase your bid by a few bucks in your first zone choice as well as the new zone. Since you are using a rebid your offer goes through, but Priceline only looks at your original target since no hotels in the second area meet your criteria.
By learning how the Priceline system works, and how you can use it to your advantage, there is no denying that you can save big money when booking your next hotel room.
